Auch wenn das vielleicht enttäuschend ist, kann man einen Internationalen Jugendfreiwilligendienst nicht „mal eben“ spontan auf die Beine stellen.
Nach meiner Zusage gab es einige Schritte, die ich durchlaufen musste.
Zunächst habe ich von der Organisation eine „Checklist“ zugeschickt bekommen. Diese beinhaltete die Abgabe des Arbeitsvertrags, einer ärztliche Bescheinigung über meine Gesundheit und meines polizeilichen Führungszeugnisses. Zudem musste ich mich in die ELEFAND-Liste eintragen und den Newsletter des Auswärtigen Amtes beantragen.
War all dies geschehen und bestätigt, war ich schon super vorbereitet und wusste bestens über alle Regeln Bescheid.
Ca. 2 Monate vor Dienstbeginn (für mich Anfang Juni 2022) musste ich dann das Visum beantragen. Dies geschah über eine Website, auf der ich unzählige Daten abgeben musste, damit am Ende mein Visum zum Glück angenommen wurde.
Zu Beginn war dieser Prozess etwas kompliziert, aber man findet sich schnell ein!
Zuletzt wurde dann mein Flug gebucht!
Über eine von der Organisation zur Verfügung gestellte Reisegesellschaft wurde mir mein Flug für den 25.08.2022 um 13 Uhr vom Düsseldorfer Flughafen vermittelt✈️. Dort konnte ich ganz leicht neben meinem normalen Koffer meine Gitarre und Ukulele als zusätzliches Gepäck angeben :).
Neben diesen ganzen Prozessen gab es den wohl größten und fast wichtigsten Teil der Vorbereitung. Das Projekt der „Tiphereth Camphill Comunity“ wird zum Teil über Spenden der Freiwilligen finanziert.
Das bedeutete also für mich, dass ich einen Weg finden musste, Spenden für das Projekt aufzubringen, um dieses zu unterstützen. Hierzu schrieb ich einen Spendenbrief (siehe Galerie im Anhang des Post) und verschickte diesen and Verwandte und Freunde der Familie.
Diese Menschen ermöglichten es mir, 2700€ an Spenden zu erbringen und an das Projekt zu spenden!
Das ist echt unglaublich🫶🏼🎉!

So - Nachdem das alles nun also geschafft ist, stellt sich nur noch eine Frage - was jetzt?
Ab jetzt heißt es fast nur noch abwarten. Ich warte jedoch nicht nur auf meinen Dienstbeginn, sondern erst noch auf mein Vorbereitungsseminar, welches vom 08 - 17.08.2022 stattfindet. Hier werde ich vor meinem Dienst auf meine Aufgaben und den richtigen Umgang verschiedenster Situationen vorbereitet.
Wie das Seminar war und was ich so gelernt habe, erfahrt ihr natürlich so bald wir möglich!
Das war es jetzt erstmal mit Vorbereitung, alles was jetzt noch bleibt ist die Vorfreude☺️!

Even if that is perhaps disappointing, you cannot “just” set up an international youth volunteer service spontaneously.
After my acceptance, there were a few steps I had to go through.
First, the organization sent me a “checklist”. This included the submission of the employment contract, a medical certificate about my health and my police clearance certificate. I also had to put my name on the ELEFAND list and apply for the Federal Foreign Office's newsletter.
Once all of this was done and confirmed, I was super prepared and knew all the rules very well.
About 2 months before the start of my job (beginning of June 2022 for me) I had to apply for the visa. This happened via a website on which I had to submit countless data so that in the end my visa was fortunately accepted.
This process was a bit complicated at the beginning, but you quickly get used to it!
Finally my flight was booked!
My flight for August 25, 2022 at 1 pm from Düsseldorf Airport was arranged for me by a travel company provided by the organization ✈️. There I could easily list my guitar and ukulele as additional luggage in addition to my normal suitcase :).
In addition to all these processes, there was probably the largest and almost most important part of the preparation.
The Tiphereth Camphill Community project is partly funded by donations from volunteers.
This meant that I had to find a way to raise funds to support the project. For this I wrote a donation letter (see gallery in the attachment of the post) and sent it to relatives and friends of the family.
These people enabled me to raise 2700€ in donations and donate to the project!

So - now that all this is done, there is only one question left - what happens next?
From now on it's almost just a matter of waiting. However, I am not only waiting for the start of my job, but first for my preparatory seminar, which will take place from August 8-17 2022. There I will get prepared for my tasks and the correct handling of various situations before my service.
Of course you will find out how the seminar has been and what I learned there as soon as possible!
That's it with preparation for now, all that's left now is the anticipation ☺️!
